Fossa Magna Park will be closed from 2 Dec 2024 until Spring 2025. During this time, the park facilities and fault exposure will be covered to protect from snow. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Fossa Magna Museum will remain open throughout the winter season, but will be closed on Mondays and days following public holidays from December through February. The museum will also be closed for the New Year's Holiday from 28 December until 4 January.

Joint Declaration Regarding the Preservation of the Memory of the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake
Six geoparks located near the epicenter of the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake have issued a joint declaration on Disaster Prevention Day (September 1) regarding the preservation and transmission of the memory of the earthquake and continued support for reconstruction.

Sado National Geopark
Naeba Sanroku National Geopark
Tateyama Kurobe National Geopark
Dinosaur Valley Fukui Katsuyama National Geopark
As a means of passing on specific memories of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, these six regions will collaborate to create educational materials and other materials for future awareness-raising and disaster prevention education.

Facilities Affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake
The following facilities have been affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake which occurred on 1 January 2024.
■Itoigawa GeoStation GeoPal
The heating system is partially damaged. Work is being done to restore full heating capacity, but in the meantime, please wear warm clothing when visiting the facility.
■Gyokusuien Garden and Tanimura Art Museum
The museum will be closed through 5 January. The safety of visitors is our primary concern while aftershocks continue. Depending on the situation, the museum closure may be extended. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
