{"id":851,"date":"2025-09-11T14:07:29","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T05:07:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geo-itoigawa.com\/en\/?page_id=851"},"modified":"2026-05-15T17:29:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T08:29:00","slug":"education","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/geo-itoigawa.com\/en\/partners\/education\/","title":{"rendered":"Cooperating Educational Institutions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1>\n\t\t\tCooperating Academic Institutions\t<\/h1>\n\t<p>Itoigawa Geopark Council works closely with academic institutions to promote local education, development and capacity building activities.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tNiigata University\t<\/h2>\n\tSince 2010, the <strong>Faculty of Science<\/strong> at <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"50\">Niigata University<\/b> has been an active member of the Itoigawa Geopark Council. In April 2016, Niigata University and Itoigawa City formalized this relationship by signing a <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"232\">Comprehensive Partnership Agreement<\/b> aimed at fostering community development and nurturing future talent.\nFurthermore, in November 2020, the <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"35\">Fossa Magna Museum<\/b> was officially designated as a <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"85\">Satellite Museum<\/b> of the university&#8217;s Faculty of Science. Moving forward, both organizations will continue to collaborate systematically-not only in promoting Geopark activities but also across diverse fields including education, culture, nature, the environment and local industry.\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.niigata-u.ac.jp\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNiigata University\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<img src=\"https:\/\/geo-itoigawa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/education_niigata_010.jpg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n<h3>\n\t\t\tGeoparks Niigata International Forum <br \/> (Co-hosted with Niigata University)\t<\/h3>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tJoetsu University of Education\t<\/h2>\n\t<b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Joetsu University of Education<\/b> has been an integral member of the Itoigawa Geopark Promotion Council since its establishment in 2008 (Heisei 20).\nIn June 2013, a <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"16\">tripartite Comprehensive Partnership Agreement<\/b> was signed between Joetsu University of Education, Itoigawa City, and the Council. This agreement aims to promote mutual growth through cooperation in various fields, including <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"240\">education, academia, the environment, and health promotion<\/b>.\nKey collaborative initiatives include:\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"6\">\n<li>\n<b data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Expert Dispatch:<\/b> Providing faculty members as lecturers for seminars and public events.\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<b data-path-to-node=\"6,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Academic Research:<\/b> Engaging in joint research projects and scholarly exchange.\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<b data-path-to-node=\"6,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Public Outreach:<\/b> Promoting the Geopark at university events, such as campus festivals.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.juen.ac.jp\/contents-e\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJoetsu University of Education\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<img src=\"https:\/\/geo-itoigawa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/education_jouetsu_020.jpg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n<h3>\n\t\t\tPromotional Booth at the<br \/>University&#8217;s Culture Festival\t<\/h3>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tMinistry of the Environment\t<\/h2>\n\tThe <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"4\">Nagano Regional Environmental Office<\/b> of the <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"48\">Ministry of the Environment<\/b> has been an active member of the Itoigawa Geopark Promotion Council since its founding in 2008.\nItoigawa City is home to parts of two spectacular national parks: <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"66\">Chubu-Sangaku National Park<\/b> and <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"98\">Myoko-Togakushi Renzan National Park<\/b>.
